Medical Associates Clinic & Health Plans is seeking a Business Analyst with strong Power BI expertise to join our team! The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in building interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, with a strong background in data visualization, advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUPS, pivot tables), and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Experience with SQL, healthcare, auditing, or insurance is helpful but not required.


The Role:

You will be the go-to expert for reporting and analytics, using Power BI to transform raw data into intuitive dashboards and reports that guide decision-making across the Health Plan and Clinic. You will also ensure regulatory compliance by supporting internal audits and will have opportunities for training and career growth.

This position is full-time position working 8:00 - 5:00pm. Some flexibility in work hours may be possible. Work location - Medical Associates Health Plans building (1605 Associates Drive).

Qualities: 

  • Proven experience with Power BI and advanced Excel functions.
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivate while managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for learning new tools, methodologies, and analytical approaches.

Based on experience and department needs, this position will be able to support and contribute to the following major duties and responsibilities:

  • Power BI Development & Reporting:
    • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
    • Create visualizations that clearly communicate trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to business leaders.
    • Manage datasets, data models, and relationships in Power BI for accurate reporting.
  • Data Analysis & Insights:
    • Cleanse, validate, and transform raw data into meaningful outputs.
    • Identify patterns, trends, and correlations to support strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare reports, summary analyses, and presentations for executives.
  • Auditing & Compliance:
    • Develop and conduct internal audits for Health Plan departments.
    • Validate and analyze results, presenting findings at Quarterly Compliance Meetings.
    • Recommend improvements to enhance processes, reporting, and data integrity.


Knowledge and Skills

Experience: One to three years of similar or related experience.

Education: Equivalent to 4 year/Bachelors degree (Analytics, finance or math preferred)

Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.


Physical Aspects:

Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.

Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.

Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.

Repetitive Motions - Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
