Environmental Service Worker - Part Time
Description
Medical Associates is hiring a Part Time Environmental Services Worker. As an Environmental Service Worker you will be assisting with instrument washing in the OB/GYN office and assisting housekeeping as needed. Must be detail oriented!
Schedule: Part-time 2:00pm to 6pm,Monday - Friday.
Duties include:
- Prepare instruments for sterilization. Stock and maintain inventory levels in exam rooms with supplies and instruments.
- Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, running floor care equipment, dusting, and polishing surfaces. Perform specific and detailed cleaning such as instrument and terminal space cleaning to ensure a tidy and sanitary environment.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants to sanitize surfaces, including door handles, light switches, countertops, floors, restroom fixtures, instruments, and other devices to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Ensure infection control, isolation techniques, universal precautions, PPE and safe handling requirements are followed.
- Basic utilization of software and computer-based products (SharePoint, Outlook, work order system, etc.) for communication and task completion.
- Lifting can include up to 50 pounds.
- Complete all other assigned projects and duties
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Experience: From three months to one year of similar or related experience. Strong customer service and communication skills.
Education: Equivalent to a high school diploma.
Interpersonal Skills: Normal courtesy in dealing with others is required. Work involves minimal contacts, usually within the organization. Contact usually involving routine, non-sensitive issues.
Other: Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Physical Aspects:
Stooping - Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
Kneeling - Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
Crouching - Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
Reaching - Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
Standing - Particularly for sustained periods of time.
Walking - Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.
Pushing - Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
Pulling - Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
Lifting - Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
Fingering - Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm as in handling.
Grasping - Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
Feeling - Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
Talking - Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.
Hearing - Perceiving the nature of sound with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
Vision - 20 / 40 or better in the best eye with or without correction.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
