We are looking to hire a part-time temporary Accounting Associate for the Kansas City, MO office! The pay rate for this role is $17/hour!

The Accounts Associate is responsible to ensuring residents are up-to-date on their rent payments by identifying delinquent accounts and using organization, persistence, and communication skills to successfully implement a variety of collection techniques.  The Accounts Associate also provides specialized services in the process of evictions; including preparing, reviewing and submitting reports for fees, fines, revenues or other monies.

Performs various aspects of accounts receivable, accounts payable and transaction processing in a timely and accurate basis and in accordance with company policies, lease agreements and applicable laws. 

Essential Functions:                            

  • Maximizes resident satisfaction by delivering prompt and courteous service by phone, email, and in person that consistently exceed industry standards
  • Prepares files for eviction cases and collections
  • Generates and distributes resident communications/notices, including payments, balances and account reconciliations (i.e. late payment notices, small balance letters, eviction notices, returned check memos).
  • Actively responds to resident billing inquiries and appeals concerning collection actions and policies by researching concerns and providing accurate and timely responses.
  • Posting of monthly rent in Salesforce
  • Treats each account holder with respect and professionalism
  • Audting ledger accounts for accuracy
  • Assist with resident concerns or related activities as requested by management.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

 Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2-5 years’ of collections experience, within the multi-family industry is preferred.
  • Math Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
  • Language Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, including professional communication style, high quality customer service skills, and ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high level of organizational skill and efficiency while meeting strict deadlines and performance metrics.
  • Problem Solving Skills: Experience in negotiating solutions to problems independently with minimal supervision.
  • Technology skills: Microsoft Office Suite experience required and Sales Force experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to proof, verify and edit complex data, transcribe and cross reference data and documents and reports.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and ability to organize workload.
