Maintenance Intern

Mac Properties is a dynamic and growing private residential real estate company with operations in the metropolitan areas of Chicago, St. Louis and Kansas City.
Overall Responsibility:
This is a summer internship in the maintenance department. The intern will be responsible for maintaining administrative and operational areas of the maintenance group with emphasis on the make ready functions. The pay rate for this role is $18/hour.
Essential Functions:
- Answer all incoming calls and handle accordingly using Mac telephone greeting standards.
- Respond in a timely manner to all email requests providing excellent customer service to residents on their work order requests.
- Enter service requests in MacForce and ensure they are assigned to the appropriate maintenance technician.
- Input information regarding work order status in resident note area in MacForce.
- Follow up on work orders and status and close out work order tickets when work has been completed.
- Responds to employee and resident requests in a courteous and timely manner.
- Keeps work area clean and equipment in good working order.
- Performs duties according to Occupations Safety & Health Act (OSHA) standards and company safety policies at all times.
- Assist with resident concerns, move-in ready requests or related activities as requested by management.
- Performs other related duties and projects as assigned during the internship period.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Associates or Bachelor's degree program.
- Working knowledge of Excel (Salesforce a plus but by no means required), Outlook and other email programs a plus
- Exceptional customer service and follow-through skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to set priorities, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written skills
