Objective:
This position is responsible for troubleshooting and performing truck and/or bus repair jobs within a shop environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Performs scheduled services and repairs on truck or buses (engines, drivetrain, chassis, electrical systems) in the shop using proper tools and procedures
- Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently; work orders, service reports, allocation of time, and tracking parts
- Maintain customer satisfaction by ensuring customer needs and deadlines are met
- Complete all scheduled repairs in a safe and efficient manner
- Follow all safety and contamination control rules and regulations
- Adheres to all safety rules and maintains quality housekeeping in work area
- Maintain company issued equipment.
Required:
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- 3 years or more of mechanical experience with diesel engines and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs
Preferred:
- 5 years or more experience with diesel engines (Caterpillar or Cummins is a plus) and/or in a position with a working knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and drivetrain repairs
- Medium Duty Cummins Engine Certification

- Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of power train, diesel engines, and electrical systems
- Strong communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities, detail-oriented and self-motivated

- Professional demeanor with both internal and external contacts including personal appearance and friendly, courteous treatment of peers and people at all levels inside and outside the organization
- Strong computer skills experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and the ability to learn CAT/MacAllister/Michigan Cat systems
- Ability to build and maintain effective customer and professional relationships through strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship-building and consistent demonstration of solid professional judgment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, deadline driven environment
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Physical Requirements of Position
- Occasional confined sitting (at computer, in car, etc.)

- Occasional working at heights (such as scaffolding, rooftops, or ladders)
- Frequent communication with other individuals. Must be able to able to exchange accurate information when speaking with customers, coworkers, and/or vendors
- Frequent use of near and far vision acuity. Must be able to identify objects within two feet or less and at a distance of 20 feet.
