Maintenance Technician

LSSI is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician, Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. This position is responsible for maintaining all facets of physical plant and grounds in accordance with health and safety requirements at the various BHS facilities in the Chicago area, primarily Portage Cragin Counseling Center of LSSI-Byron St.

Essential Functions:
- Alert to and take action to avoid any physical condition that may be a hazard to the health and safety of residents, clients or staff.
- Service and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC and mechanical equipment.
- Perform maintenance tasks on a regular basis at the assigned facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair household appliances.
- Complete monthly and annual preventative maintenance forms.
- On-Call Emergencies.
Position Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5-10 years’ experience in building maintenance.
- Trade school training and HVAC certification preferred.
- Own tools common to the trades.
- Valid driver's license and insured vehicle.
