LSSI is hiring a full-time Parent Peer Specialist. Under the supervision of the Team Supervisor, works in conjunction with the Parent Specialist to provide immediate engagement with parents to listen empathically to their story, answer questions, coach and support parent/child contact. Engages parents in GenerationPMTO, an evidence-based program delivered internationally and shown to change families’ lives with rewarding outcomes. Maintains ongoing parent support.

Monday 11:00am to 7:00pm
Tuesday 11:00am to 7:00pm
Wednesday 9:00am to 5:00pm
Thursday 11:00am to 7:00pm
Friday 11:00am to 7:00pm

Essential Functions:
- Provides immediate engagement with parents support them in reunifying the family.
- Participates in developing an individualized whole family treatment plan, in conjunction with the Families Together team, child and family.
- Recruits for, organizes and delivers the evidence-based parenting program (GenerationPMTO), ensuring that each parent is engaged, learns new skills and incorporates the practices with their family. Promotes family reunification.
- Sets up, coaches and supervises, when needed, ongoing contact and visits between the parent and their child(ren). This includes virtual calls/meetings, in person activities and regular parenting tasks, such as school, medical, dental, etc. Strengthens and learns new skills and strategies generalizable across practice settings. Participates in a training process that is strengths-based and builds cohesion amongst team members.
- Completes and submits all required reports, tracking, information and documentation accurately and timely as required by agency and funding resources.
- Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a human services field preferred.
- Will participate in GenerationPMTO training and certification program.
- Real life experience with the child welfare system and/or parenting experience.
- Ability to engage parents, including meeting both virtually and in person, and belief in family change.
- Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
- Valid Illinois driver’s license in good standing.
- Access to reliable transportation for visits, meetings and to transport clients as may be needed.
- Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage.
