LSSI is hiring a full-time Counseling Supervisor, Monday through Friday. Supervise a unit of master's level counselors and one or more sites. Responsible for providing clinical consultation and practice model development for foster care programs within the expectations of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, LSSI, Illinois Part 132 Medicaid Mental Health Services, and Council on Accreditation standards.

Essential Functions:
  • Supervise a unit of master's level counselors providing the full array of therapeutic service to children and families involved in the foster care system.
  • Responsible for the management of the intake process for children/families referred for therapeutic services from LSSI foster care programs, including intake assessment of presenting issues and matching with an appropriate identified counselor.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled supervision for guidance, direction, support, and approval of decision-making, assessment, treatment planning and intervention.
  • Ensure that supervised staff meet productivity standards established by the LSSI Children's Community Service Network Management Team.
  • Ensure the job duties of the team and direct reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to one or more clients as indicated by the assessment and treatment plan.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or other identified human services field required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years post-master's degree clinical experience required.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.
  • Holds the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credential or its equivalent.
  • Submit to fingerprinting and pass required background check, including criminal, CANTS, LEADS, Sexual Abuse Registry, Illinois State Police, and FBI.
  • Knowledge of the DSM-5 and ICD-10 and their applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of strengths-based, trauma-informed interaction with clients.
  • Ability to relate to others and influence people.
  • Excellent organization, presentation and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation required.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage bodily injury and property damage required.
