Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is a not-for-profit social service agency with more than 70 program sites throughout the state of Illinois. Our services include counseling, mental health, substance abuse treatment, housing, work with prisoners and their families and services for older adults and a variety of services for children including preschool, foster care, and adoption.   
LSSI is hiring a full-time Counselor Case Manager. Provide whole-person services to clients participating in the Kenmore Residential Rehabilitation Program, including 1:1 sessions, case management assistance, and the presentation of evidence-based group programming. Assist clients in achieving their stated goals and objectives, collaborating with other internal and external treatment professionals.

Essential Functions:   
  • Collaborate with Kenmore Residential Rehabilitation team members, other LSSI programs, and external partners to provide quality, whole-person care and services to Kenmore Residential Rehabilitation clients.
  • Maintain a caseload of 5-8 clients.
  • Present weekly groups, founded in evidence-based practices.
  • Provide weekly 1:1 counseling to each client on assigned caseload.
  • Provide case management services, including appropriate linkages and referrals.
  • Provide support coverage to Kenmore Healthy Start Recovery Home clients, as needed.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete in a timely manner.
  • Meet productivity requirements identified by LSSI.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards of treatment, including NASW Code of Ethics.
  • Responsible for transportation of clients in personal vehicle and/or agency vehicle.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.
Position Qualifications:   
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in substance use field is preferred.
  • CADC or must obtain CADC within 18 months of hire date.
  • Background check clearance required.
  • Annual TB test required.
  • Trained and proficient in the use of an electronic health care record required.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and licensure standards preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in
    writing.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
