LSSI is hiring a full-time Group Counselor Case Manager Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. Provide a full array of group services in a community-based setting for individuals with serious mental illness in order to promote community functioning and independence and decrease psychiatric hospitalizations and crisis episodes. Individuals served are part of the Williams and/or Colbert Consent Decrees, CST program, and CCM program.

Essential Functions: 
  • Provide a full array of group services, including skill building, CBT, and other evidence-based practices both in the community and in client residences.
  • Operate as part of a treatment team and attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with Rule 140 requirements.
  • Meet financial productivity requirements.
  • Transportation of clients in personal vehicle and agency vehicle is required. Services will be provided at multiple locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest and fair manner.

Position Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors in social service field required; Masters preferred.
  • 1-3 years of clinical experience is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid Illinois Driver’s License and insurance.
  • Experience leading groups is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Proficiency in EHR documentation and review.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Driving is required.
  • Access to reliable transportation is required.
  • Valid Driver’s License in good standing for the state of residency and insurance.
  • Valid Illinois statutory and liability insurance coverage is required.
