LSSI is hiring a full-time Child Welfare AssistantMonday through Friday. Under the general supervision of the program director or designee, perform a variety of social work, group and outreach activities to individuals and families.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform all tasks as required in the written plan.
  • Meet productivity requirements as established by the program director or designee.
  • Provide client monitoring and linkage to appropriate services both within LSSI and other community agencies.
  • Complete and submit all necessary reports, billing, and documentation accurately and on time as required by agency and funding sources.
  • Communicate with supervisor, work group and collateral agencies regarding individual's and /or family's needs.
Position Qualifications:
  • High school diploma (or GED) required. 
  • AA Degree with two years of college preferred.
  • Age requirement may apply.
  • Record of compliance with the law and clearence on the Illinois CANTS
  • Basic knowledge of child development and parenting or equivalent life experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear , comprehensible manner.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing for the state of residency required.
  • Access to reliable transportation for visits, meetings, and to transport clients as needed.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage.
