Our dog trainers combine their knowledge of command based training and behavioral development to facilitate an everlasting bond of unconditional love between pet and pet parent. 


Essential Job Functions: 

The incumbent must be able to consistently perform the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Leading multi-week group classes for puppies and adult dogs
  • Combining positive reinforcement command, behavior, socialization, and wellness into their classes
  • Conducting potential customer consultations
  • Follows safe practices and procedures when introducing dogs
  • Conduct potential customer consultations
  • Actively engage pet parents to continue to grow the business
  • Positively interact with pet parents in person, via email, text, and phone
  • All other assigned duties from the Store Manager and/or any member of the Retail Leadership Team

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Minimum 1 year experience teaching in a group class setting
  • Experience with private training
  • Knowledge in command and behavioral based training
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent dog handling skills
  • Must have a love for dogs and a keen sense for animal safety
  • Must be observant

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
  • Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs 
  • Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
