Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have 6+ months of professional experience in dog training for both group and individual settings
  • Knowledge in command and behavioral based training
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Ability to read and promote positive canine play
  • Must have a confident and assertive demeanor to help maintain control over the dogs
  • Knowledge in positive command reinforcement and behavioral exercises
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have a love for dogs
  • Must have a keen sense for creating and maintaining a safe environment
  • Must be observant


Essential Job Functions

The incumbent must be able to perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Leading multi-week group and private classes for puppies and adult dogs
  • Combining positive reinforcement command, behavior, socialization, and wellness into their classes
  • Conducting potential customer consultations
  • Follows safe practices and procedures when introducing dogs
  • Conduct potential customer consultations
  • Actively engage pet parents to continue to grow the business
  • Positively interact with pet parents in-person, via email, text, and phone


Physical Demands

  • Position requires person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
  • Majority of day is spent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
  • Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs 
  • Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
