What You Will Do:
The Director of Revenue plays a crucial role in aligning the firm's revenue cycle management with its strategic goals, providing leadership and solutions for Time Capture, Billing, Collections and Client Onboarding. The Director is responsible establishing business goals, strategies, and tactical execution plans that drive operational excellence and add value to the firm, practice groups, and partners. The Director develops collaborative partnerships with peer leaders in Finance, Partners, Firm leadership and other functions to deliver excellent results. The Director provides leadership and direction to the Billing, Collections and Client Onboarding teams through talent development and performance management and ensures exceptional client service and satisfaction is attained in all aspects of the revenue cycle.
- Directs and oversees the overall strategy, policies, objectives, procedures and initiatives of the firm’s revenue cycle activities and ensures compliance with firm and client requirements
- Contributes to the firm's strategic initiatives by providing insightful analyses and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness in revenue processes
- Teams with finance and other peers on strategy including systems, procedures, policies, rates, pricing and other initiatives impacting the revenue cycle
- Ensures that the firm’s time entry requirement is adhered to, providing insightful and actionable analyses to firm leadership to maintain time hygiene
- Ensures that client billings and accruals conform with AFAs, budgets, firm policies and client requirements
- Collaborates with Partners, peers and firm leadership to discuss plans of action, issues, best practices, and compliance with internal and external policies and client expectations
- Assesses and makes recommendations to improve efficiency of current systems/processes for the entire Revenue Cycle, including client onboarding, time capture, billing and collections
- Serves as the main contact point as it pertains to any revenue cycle management questions, concerns, and updates
- Manages and is responsible for the development, training and success of the billing, collections and client onboarding staff
- Reviews, designs, and implements processes surrounding time capture, billing, compliance, collections and other financial analyses to ensure that revenue cycle is effective and goals and objectives are attained
- Identifies and analyzes payment and write off trends
- Investigates and resolves all billing issues, identifies appropriate solutions and procedural changes as needed
- Responsible for oversight of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including time capture, disbursements, billings, collections and write-offs
- Responsible for the semi-annual review of work in process and accounts receivable and establishing reserves for doubtful accounts
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business discipline preferred.
- Minimum ten years’ experience with billing, collection or account management.
- High degree of business acumen and emotional intelligence in order to interface with, and influence, partners and billing attorneys in order to achieve desired billing and collection goals for the Firm.
- Minimum ten years people management experience with at least five years in a leadership position.
- Law Firm or professional services background.
- Strong experience in leading process improvement initiatives and work-flow redesign, with documented record of success.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, processes and internal controls.
- Proven ability to grow and develop talent.
- Must be well organized, work independently, comprehend business requirements and proactively identify systems and reporting capabilities to address those requirements.
- Ability to collaborate with creativity and vision.
- Proactive with demonstrated troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills in order to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, and an ability to effectively communicate with all levels of firm leadership, management and technical teams.
Schedule: Full-time, Hybrid, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm ET
Amount of Travel Required: 10%
For candidates meeting the requirements, the expected base salary is $300,000 to $325,000. The range provided is the salary that Lowenstein Sandler in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
