Sanitation Specialist
Job Summary:
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing production equipment as the production schedule allows.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Completion of proper paperwork and verification of sanitization procedures.
● Follow the master cleaning schedule and allow for time to sanitize and clean production areas/equipment as needed.
● Responsible for the equipment cleaning requirements based on regulatory requirements (i.e., USDA, FDA, SQF, and other agencies as required) and elimination of contamination. Participation in pre-op for FDA.
● Responsible for the disconnection and connection of all equipment regarding the precision chemical dilution sanitizing system. Responsible for the equipment functions and routine maintenance in regard to cleaning.
● Precise measurement of all sanitizer products used on a regular basis.
● Monitoring the time of clean times for all scheduled usage of cleaning equipment.
● Troubleshooting sanitation equipment and knowing chemical usage.
● Monitor for potential contamination concerns.
● Work closely with other departments within the manufacturing plant for production and maintenance needs.
● Responsible for being flexible regarding production scheduling and sanitation needs.
● Perform pre-op inspections.
● Must clean to a microbiological level to prevent bacteria from growing or surviving on product and non-product contact surfaces.
● Must be able to prevent liquid collection of self-draining equipment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
● Prior Sanitation equipment cleaning in the production industry is preferred.
● Knowledge of regulatory requirements preferred.
● Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities during the shift.
Education and Experience:
● High School Diploma or GED required.
● Ability to read, write and speak English.
Physical Requirements:
● Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
● Ability to stand, kneel, wipe, reach, bend, and lift.
● Must be able to perform duties that require standing for long periods of time and fast movement.

The successful candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excels in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with the ability to adapt to change quickly. A teamwork attitude, willing to take on extra tasks and see them through. Acute attention to detail and problem-solving skills are also necessary attributes for the role.
