The On-Call Driver will provide driver coverage for the Heavy-Duty Department during vacation, sick leave, injury coverage, and other temporary driver absences. Hours are dependent on operational need.

The On-Call Driver will provide driver coverage for the Heavy-Duty Department during vacation, sick leave, injury coverage, and other temporary driver absences. Hours are dependent on operational need.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete assigned delivery routes based on operational needs.
- Support store deliveries, transfers, replenishment, and other transportation requirements.
- Load and unload freight safely while following company procedures.
- Ensure freight is properly secured before departure.
- Complete required paperwork, delivery documentation, and return documentation accurately.
- Communicate delays, service issues, equipment concerns, or route challenges to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Follow all company safety policies, transportation procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a professional and service-focused approach when dealing with stores, DC teams, and internal departments.
- Assist with transfer returns, empties, and freight movement as required during coverage periods.
Qualifications
- Valid Unrestricted Class 1 driver’s license required.
- Previous delivery or commercial driving experience.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles and follow transportation procedures.
- Dependable, flexible, and able to adjust to changing operational needs.
- Ability to lift, move, load, and unload freight as required.
- Strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while following direction from the Heavy-Duty Manager.

Wage: $32.00-37.00 /hr based on experience
