Position: Cycle Counting Lead - L1 Afternoons
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC
The Cycle Counting Lead is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and timely cycle counting of the entire L1 Warehouse each year. This position is responsible for the accurate tracking of the company’s inventory ensuring the system properly states the physical inventory on hand.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure the Zero Picks from the previous day are assigned to the team to be checked, items the find are positioned correctly on the shelf and items not found are Adjusted from inventory the same night.
- Produce and assigned count sheets daily, Work with the team to properly Investigate and resolve any discrepancies found during counts.
- Accurately maintain comprehensive records of counted items to ensure the team meets their daily quota so that all items are counted according to our annual schedule.
- Effectively communicate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure seamless inventory management.
- Assist in preparing the warehouse for internal or external audits by ensuring inventory accuracy and compliance with procedures.
- Develop and implement training programs for new cycle counters to ensure consistency in counting methods and accuracy.
- Regularly review and update cycle counting procedures to align with business needs and best practices.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews of team members to identify areas for improvement and recognize exceptional work.
- Assist in establishing KPIs for the cycle counting team to measure efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure your team presents items on the pick shelf to the picker in the selling UOM and they can be scanned.
- Inspect the condition of items during counting to ensure they meet quality standards and report any damaged or defective items to the DC Services Supervisor.
- Identify and suggest improvements in the cycle counting process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to inventory control.
- Ensure your team cleans up and organizes the bin location that they count. IE: Remove pallet wrap, strapping, empty cartons and plastic.
- Look for any unsafe practices or work areas and report them to a Safety Committee member.
- Keep current with product knowledge.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
Goals and Objectives
- Re-label racking with new bin locations.
- Help with moving product to the new bin locations.
- Obtain 100% accuracy in counting product in the correct location.
- Report any items that do not scan to the Receiving Supervisor.
- Always keep the warehouse safe, organized and tidy.
Do you fit the part?
- At least 2-years leading warehouse RF inventory counting experience.
- Familiar with RF scanners, auto parts and bin locations.
- Level 1 First aid certification
- Must be willing to work as a member of a team and be flexible in undertaking a variety of duties that will contribute to the success of the organization.
- Requires the ability to work with Microsoft computer applications.
- Good math skills and attention to details
- Strong communication skills.
- Solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Requires the ability to be organized, multitask and solve problems
