Are you passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that help employees grow and succeed? We’re looking for a Learning Design & Communications Specialist to join our Learning & Development team within the Human Resources department at Longo’s. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and developing effective training programs to support Team Member development across our company.
 
While your primary focus will be on curriculum, course development and facilitation, you’ll also provide internal communications support on an as-needed basis, ensuring that key company messages reach our Team Members in a clear and engaging way.

What You’ll Do:
 
Learning & Development:
  • Design and develop interactive learning programs, including e-learning modules, workshops (as needed), and instructional materials.
  • Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure training content is accurate, relevant, and engaging.
  • Facilitate engaging workshops and learning sessions.
  • Manage and update learning content within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
  • Measure the effectiveness of training programs through feedback and performance data.
Internal Communications:
  • Write and edit announcements, emails, and internal messages to keep Team Members informed and engaged.
  • Support the preparation of presentations and talking points for senior leaders.
  • Design and format required graphics to support communication initiatives.
  • Contribute to crisis communication efforts and major company initiatives as required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with internal teams to align training programs with business goals.
  • Engage with stakeholders to analyze performance data and ensure training solutions drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Work with third-party vendors to integrate multimedia content into training programs.
Health & Safety Commitment:
  • Model and promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with workplace safety standards.
  • Support Team Members in understanding and following OHSA regulations and company policies.
Education & Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Education, Communications, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in learning and development, instructional design and/or communications.
  • Hands-on experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline) and LMS management.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience developing training content and internal communications.
  • Video editing and graphic design experience are considered assets.
  • Change management experience is considered an asset.

Work Environment:
  • Hybrid role with minimal physical effort required.
  • Occasional travel to different company locations may be required.
