Logistics Transportation Coordinator - 6 Month Acting Role
Job Overview: This position achieves the Genuine Merchant Strategy by ensuring timely and cost- effective scheduling of inbound shipments and/or deliveries to stores and arranging vendor pickups. Effectively communicating and handling all inbound and store inquiries in a timely manner.
 
Job Scope: Reporting to the Logistics Supervisor, the position is responsible for executing the day-to-day tasks.
 
Accountabilities:
  • Prioritize and balance work load to achieve operational goals.
  • Schedule drivers to effectively maintain on time delivery rates to stores and pickups from vendors.
  • Enhance carrier utilization while maintaining customer requirements for service and on-time deliveries.
  • Plan and schedule pickup appointments to maximize backhauls and minimize empty miles.
  • Maintain 99%+ on-time rate to stores and vendor appointments.
  • Maintaining, filing, tracking and auditing of daily driver time sheets, driver logs, QLR sheets and all other reports as needed.
  • Track daily driver behaviors using available resources such as Samsara.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with the drivers, shippers and receivers through professional and timely communications and inquiry responses.
  • Support with inbound and dispatch functions as needed.
  • Track and enforce vendor compliance to Supplier Terms & Conditions, creating infractions as needed.
  • Update assigned trackers and files in a timely manner.
  • Create new KPI trackers and reports as required.
  • Support with administrative data entry as needed in all areas of DC.
  • Support with receiving as needed.
Customer Service
  • Consistently demonstrates Genuine Merchant Customer Service and holds himself/herself and team members accountable for the following:
  • Ensures positive customer service relations with a variety of internal and external customers such as: Managers, Supervisors, Distribution Centre Team Members, 3PL Drivers and external vendors
Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
Responsible for maintaining all policies and procedures including:
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Health and Safety including equipment training
  • WHMIS
  • Food Safety
  • Loss Prevention
  • Human Resource Policies
  • Responsible for daily and weekly Produce QA KPI reports.
 Key Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
  • 1 –2 years of inbound logistics experience is preferred and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction is essential.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
  • Excellent organization, planning, and communication skill
  • Innovative problem solving and sound decision making abilities
  • Strong computer skills required, particularly with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and self-direction within established guidelines

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a standard warehouse environment with various temperature zones
    • Ability to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs
