Position: Marketing Coordinator - Communications
Job Overview:
The Marketing Coordinator, Communications, helps to support the Marketing team with a wide range of projects. As a strong team player, this role manages assets and materials for key marketing touchpoints. This role primarily supports the printed and digital signage experience for all Longo’s locations; including but not limited to managing all print POS signage via the in-house print shop, external print shops, digital signage, menu boards, brochures, Team Member items and cash screens. This role actively looks for opportunities to enhance in-store communication to further improve the Guest experience in order to support sales growth and maximize revenue. This role also is responsible for coordination and execution of digital flyer & e-mail advertising support; including but not limited to coordination & trafficking of assets to agency and vendor partners.
Accountabilities:
- Manage distribution of in-store signage for tactical, seasonal and story-telling brand focused in-store communication
- Lead on coordinating signage print and setup in-store for New and Renovation stores.
- Represent the brand in-store, executing the in-store signage execution including both quarterly refreshes and ad hoc requests
- Represent the brand through digital advertising in email, website management and digital ads.
- Assist with the in-store digital menu boards aligned with overall communication strategy to drive desired outcomes and/or conversions
- Assists with coordination, traffic instructions & key messaging strategy for digital flyer/price & item advertising
- Assist with coordination & approval of weekly digital flyer e-mails
- Manage inbound requests from internal and external partners
- Assist with new store openings supporting marketing and cross functional teams in the planning and execution of creative assets used for grand openings, renovations
- Ensure project deliverables are met and satisfy business requirements
- Assist with periodic store signage aduits of creative assets to ensure they are accurate and aligned with current brand strategy
- Assist with administrative duties – invoicing, mailing, and print distribution
- Perform other duties as required
Cross-Functional Accountabilities:
- Work with Internal and External Partners –Merchandising team, Store management/operations and agency partners
- Manage communication between vendors, merchandising, operations and marketing related to projects
- Interactions with promotions team, design teams, social and advertising to keep projects on track
Health and Safety:

- Role models the importance of health and safety by always working safely and calls out and addressed and safety issues.
- Recognizes risks which may pose a danger to Team Members and Guests and resolves such issues (where possible) or modifies work, mitigating the risk to Team Member/Guest until resolution can be sourced and implemented (i.e. Longo’s Call Center Harassment/Violence Reference Guide)
- Ensures all pre-use checks (where applicable) are conducted and all equipment is maintained to provide for safe operation by Team Members.
- Ensures that TMs are trained to safely carry out their work in the department and ensures that all work is safely carried out by Team Members.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Post-secondary degree in advertising, business, communications or related field
- 2-3 or more years of relevant experience, ideally in a retail environment
- Self-motivated, organized, strong attention to detail and able to multi-task and prioritize jobs to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of creative and print processes, in-store operations and brand strategy
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and practices across multiple departments
- Strong project management and relationship management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills – Office suite, MAC and familiar with graphic software such as Adobe Illustrator
- Strong planning, budget and operations skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to produce high quality results in a deadline driven environment
- Acts within the spirit and intent of Longo’s core values, maintains subject matter expertise, and demonstrate knowledge of Longos’ business.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with participation in meetings and conference calls
- Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities
- Travel to various stores in the GTA required
- Work conditions include occasional periods of moderate physical effort
