Position Summary  

The Project Manager acts as the liaison between internal sales personnel, customers, and suppliers as LONG works to bid and work projects. This position is critical to the accurate and competitive pricing of various jobs LONG engages in.  

Pay range: $22.25 - $36.00 per hour plus potential profit share

Responsibilities  
  • Prepares cost estimates and proposals for heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment and products
  • Assist sales engineer with equipment selections and pricing
  • Assists in bidding jobs with direction of sales engineers
  • Prepares and assembles technical data for submittal to buyers
  • Prepares/releases orders for products to manufacturers
  • Reviews manufacturers acknowledgements for accuracy
  • Corrects orders as required
  • Coordinate equipment size and delivery requirements with customers
  • Enters projects in job control system, maintains project line items costs and invoicing with direction from sales engineers
  • Performs detailed project cost management
  • Requires customer communications and coordination in all aspects of a project
  • Manufacturer coordination with respect to product availability, options and pricing
  • Abides by all LONG and OSHA safety regulations at all times
  • Drives defensively and obeys all traffic laws including LONG safe driver policy (avoids all confrontational driving situations)
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications  
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or minimum of 3 years’ experience selling and/or applying HVAC equipment
  • Availability for after-hour consultation and problem solving on assigned jobs as necessary
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literate with Microsoft applications
Working Conditions  

Environment:  

  • Alcohol and Drug-free
  • Largely indoors, but some outdoor exposure to cold and heat may be required

Physical Requirements  

  • Routine sitting, lifting, bending, and kneeling
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform job duties at heights
