Program Operations Manager

Position Purpose
The Program Operations Manager will directly manage all of LONG’s Building Intelligence Division Operational Activities supporting a pre-identified Central Account. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all onsite personnel, including internal team members and subcontractors who are working on projects or service operations for central account of responsibility. They will own the P&L and play a vital role in the communication between the customer and all LONG team members involved in the project.
Pay range: $130,000 - $150,000 plus % of gross margin from central account projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Manage the work of all project managers, application engineers, subcontractors, control technicians, assigned to projects and services in relation to their assigned Central Account and work with said employee managers to address any related performance issues affecting customer of responsibility.
- Manage the Building Intelligence (BI) business operations supporting the Central Account by leading Project Managers, Field Supervisors and Field Technicians.
- Organize and maintain an effective operations team committed to customer and employee satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
- Liaison with other BI department managers to develop, forecast, and prioritize manpower schedules and project loading schedules to ensure contract completion in an efficient and profitable manner
- Actively coordinate activity schedules with the Project Managers, Engineering and Operations Supervisors to ensure correct staffing and correct abilities are provided to meet individual project schedules and service agreement timeline commitments.
- Provide technical support, expertise, leadership and accountability for installed projects and delivered service.
- Ensure the quality and standardization of sequences, graphics, engineering standards, panels, drawings, service procedures and repairs for Central Account.
- Regularly visits Central Account jobs in progress and Service calls to inspect quality of work performed and gain insight to recommend additional on the job training and technical support to respective staff managers.
- Ensure all operation personnel assigned to Central Account perform work in accordance with LONG Safety standards and OSHA regulations.
- Ensure that LONG is fairly compensated for all work done outside contractual obligations and coordinates additional work needs or requirements in advance with the relevant Project Managers, Controls Electricians, Control Technicians and Control Service Technicians.
- Provide technical and operational support for the Central Account Sales Rep, including proper pricing and scope-of-work definition for opportunities.
- Facilitate the Sales to Operations Turnovers, Engineering to Field Project Turnovers, and the Installation to Service Project Turnovers for the Central Account.
- Maintain consistent professional communication with the Central Account, coworkers, and leadership team.
- Meet with customer on regular basis for KPI review of overall account
- Serve as primary Central Account contact and escalation point to resolve disputes regarding staffing issues, delivery issues, or technical services performed.
- Provide constructive feedback on training, development, resource allocation, and performance assessment of personnel assigned to the Central Account respective managers.
- Alert respective managers of personnel assigned to the Central Account of any performance issues or employee relations issues negatively impacting the Central Account
- Manage and balance financial metrics with employee and Central Account needs.
- Work with financial/admin team relative to invoicing, AR's and compliance to meet financial metrics.
- Maintain and improve planned and executed margins for Central Account Projects and Quoted Service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of Building Automation systems experience and 7+ years of project management experience.
- Ability to travel to and inspect job sites and visit customer locations.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing.
- Availability for after-hour consultation and problem solving on assigned jobs, as necessary.
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm & smoke removal systems, engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and ability to locate, layout and verify proper mounting of control devices.
- Adequate blueprint reading skills and ability to locate equipment and thermostats and to read and understand control drawings.
- Great troubleshooting of HVAC equipment and controls systems
- Extensive knowledge of financials metrics and mechanisms for the commercial building industry.
- Thorough understanding of the project management processes and service operations.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills

Physical Requirements
- This work may involve standing for extended periods, climbing ladders or scaffolds, and working in tight spaces.
- This position may require lifting to 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
