Position Purpose
As a LONG Service Technician, you will be maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing commercial HVAC systems. You will be joining an existing team of Service Technicians, though you will work independently much of the time. A company vehicle, mobile phone, and clothing are provided to ensure you are well equipped for the job. We are looking for both seasoned professionals and aspiring technicians who can show up on time, learn, and work hard.
 
Please note this is a Unionized position that will require joining or maintaining membership in the local chapter of the Plumbers Pipefitters Union.  This role will cover a wide geographic range  and have some overnight travel.  Relocation bonuses are available for remote candidates.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties or tasks assigned as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain HVAC systems by changing air filters, greasing bearings, recording refrigeration pressures, adjusting gas-fired burners and performing other preventative maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems using power wiring, unit controls, motor, blower, fan, bearing, gas & electric heat, refrigeration systems, economizer, VAV box, fan powered box, and pneumatic controls.
  • Repair HVAC equipment using soldering, brazing, pipe fitting, and unit wiring.
  • Install HVAC equipment using copper and steel piping, sheet metal ducting, equipment hanging, and crane direction.
Qualifications
  • 1+ years working experience with HVAC.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
  • Own, or can obtain, personal hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, or electrical systems.
  • The ability to obtain a valid CFC Refrigeration certificate within 30 days after first day of employment.

Physical Requirements
  • This position may involve standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces.
  • This position may require lifting to 75 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.
  • This position may require climbing ladders and the ability to function at heights.
