  • Manage a team of senior PCB CAD designers and lab technicians.

  • Work in partnership with senior management and other teams on budget and resource planning.

  • Work with project managers to develop and enforce a supportable delivery schedule based on agreed priorities and business requirements.

  • Manage internal and external dependencies to ensure product development and delivery on schedule.

  • Remove roadblocks and provide support to ensure all team members have what they need to succeed. Provide help to team members during peaks of activities.

  • Work closely with senior leaders, product/project managers, and other teams for prioritization, techno evaluation, risk identification and mitigation.

  • Lead the technical development to meet cost, schedule, sustainability and user experience.

  • Communicate early and often about issues impacting project development.

  • Perform employee performance reviews and promote professional development.

  • Hire the right talents as required to maintain high technical standards.

  • Help develop and promote engineering processes and best practices and reviews.

  • Bring technical leadership and experience in product design involving strong cross-functional and system capabilities.

  • Collaborate with Operations team for PCB sourcing and assembly processes

    • IQC, SDT, GSM, MTM, PE and WW DFM committee.

  • Co-work with the WW CAD team for process alignment.

  • Qualify the design to achieve our quality standards.

  • Take ownership of the PCB design strategy.

    • Scout and audit existing and new PCB manufacturers and technologies.

      • Cost-driven scouting.

      • Sustainable PCB technology scouting.

    • Manage CAD software, libraries and training.

    • Build components footprint strategy based on IPC standard 7351B and Operations team requirements.

    • Define and ensure PCB documentation and digital files standards.

  • Lead the Electrical Engineering lab tasks

    • Electronics prototyping, hand soldering, components and furniture purchase.

    • Equipment maintenance and calibration.

    • Support for ESD and EFT/B tests.

    • General lab EE space maintenance.

Your Skills

Here are the skills we are looking for:

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 5+ years of experience.

  • 5 years of experience in PCB design and manufacturing.

  • Proven knowledge in one or more of the following tools:

    • Allegro or OrCAD PCB Designer (must have).

    • PADS Standard or Standard Plus (nice to have) 

  • Experience with EE schematic parts symbol and footprint creation.

  • Experience in EE components 3D model mapping.

  • A proven track record of developing and mentoring top-notch engineers is a plus.

  • Highly organized with strong project planning, management and tracking skills.

  • Hands-on attitude with the ability to look into designs in detail.

  • Ability to anticipate, recognize, and push through resistance.

  • Able to mediate disputes and promote collaboration and avoid silos.

  • Proven knowledge and collaboration with PCB manufacturing and assembly partners.

  • Strong written and spoken communication in both English and Chinese.

  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

  • Service-oriented attitude, with strong management, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
