Spring Internship Program - Electrical Engineering intern - Go Green Electronics/Proximity/Activity Detection

Intern Hsinchu, Taiwan

Description

The Role(If you are interested in Go Green Electronics):
Electronics components including integrated circuits (IC), printed circuit boards (PCB), batteries,… are representing a significant portion of the carbon footprint of mice and keyboards. We want to rethink their design and explore green solutions and technologies that will allow to reach our carbon reduction goals

*The Role(If you are interested in Proximity/Activity Detection):
The Creativity, Productivity and Gaming Business Group of Logitech is looking for an undergraduate student to assist the electrical engineering team to study and prototype proximity & activity detection.

Your Contribution(If you are interested in Go Green Electronics):
Be Yourself. Be Open. Stay Hungry and Humble. Collaborate. Challenge. Decide and just Do. These are the behaviors you’ll need for success at Logitech. In this role you will:

• Consumer Electronic products have a big impact on the planet and environment: extraction of raw materials, production of electronic components, manufacturing and distribution of products, and e-waste. Less than 20% of products are recycled at the end of life.
• To address this point Logitech defined sustainability targets to reduce the CO2 impact of their products. It is time to think about designing more environmentally friendly products and exploring new green technologies in the electronics

These are the behaviors you’ll need for success at Logitech. You will learn:
• List existing state of the art green electronics solutions
 • Explore and assess progress in the development of green electronic components: PCBs, ICs, Batteries, ...
• Review and assess solutions to replace current printed circuit boards with special focus on printed electronics, alternative materials to replace PCBs: membranes, biodegradable substrate, …
• Propose innovative solutions and evaluate new sustainable technologies or components based on performance, risk, cost, reliability, manufacturability
• Select more promising technologies for prototyping

*Your Contribution(If you are interested in Proximity/Activity Detection):
Be Yourself. Be Open. Stay Hungry and Humble. Collaborate. Challenge. Decide and just Do. These are the behaviors you’ll need for success at Logitech. In this role you will:
**Understand our needs, build a catalog of solutions, brainstorm with colleagues.
**Be creative. Study and develop a way of activity and/or presence detection.
**Proof of Concept, validate by way of prototyping.
**Project report & documentation,

*These are the behaviors you’ll need for success at Logitech. You will learn:
**To work in a multicultural environment.
**About Logitech high-quality products fundamentals.
**To connect ideas with prototypes and final design.
