The Role:

The Acoustics Engineer will be an integral part of the product development team and will work with engineering to design cutting-edge microphones with industry-leading acoustic performance. The position requires expertise in acoustics design engineering, taking products from early concept stages, through a phase-gate development process, to mass production and follow-up support.

  • Collaboration skills and an optimistic attitude are essential for success

  • Provide acoustic design guidance in the early stages of product conceptualization 

  • Work with mechanical and electrical engineering during the product development process to obtain the best possible acoustic performance

  • Provide guidance to firmware and DSP engineers for filter development and tuning

  • Measure and characterize microphone builds for quality and acoustic performance

  • Provide detailed reports with information such as frequency response, THD, SNR, polar response, maximum SPL, etc.

  • Play a key role in ensuring the final design meets Blue’s high quality audio standards.

  • Provide guidance to manufacturers for testing procedures and limits

  • Resolve acoustic issues/challenges

  • Drive innovation within the acoustics engineering discipline



 

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Extensive knowledge of acoustic theory and how to apply it to real-world development and testing

  • Working knowledge of Audio Precision audio analyzers or similar

  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a small and rapidly growing group, as well as in a complex organization

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience working in Logitech is preferred

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering and how it pertains to acoustic performance

  • Understanding of electronic and software filter design

  • Understanding of common audio processing (compressors, limiters, noise suppression, etc)


 

Education:

  • Physics or engineering degree (acoustics, mechanical, or electrical preferred) or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of acoustics experience
