CMF Research Scientist (Database, LLM)

The Role: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Scientist Intern to join our dynamic Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) team. As a CMF  Research Scientist Intern, you will play a vital role in installing, organizing, and managing material and manufacturing processes databases used in our existing files. This position offers a unique opportunity to create a CMF Chatbot by clean data, organizing the database, and working on language technologies such as LLMs.

Your Contribution:

• Cleaning the data from office systems, such as Word and Excel. 

• Categorize the CMF files and input the relevant data into the database.

• Build Web GUI for data visualization.

• Applying prompting techniques to extract important information from aging files, design and execute the research results on the built chatbot.

• Documentation of the finding/summary during the internship.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

• Majoring information management/information system/computer science/information technology related majors, or having related or equivalent experience.

• Strong Background knowledge in Relational Database (RDBMS) and SQL, Advanced user of Python on practical experience in data modeling, and web development.

• Strongly Preferred: knowledge and hands-on experience with foundation models, prompt engineering, RAG, and in-context learning.

• Good communication and collaboration abilities.

• Able to break down complex issues into manageable items.

• Assess new concepts, make proposals with theoretical analysis and build verification plans.

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

• Be able to communicate in English with foreigners, in writing and speaking.

Education:

• Majoring information management/information system/computer science/information technology related majors, or having related or equivalent experience.
