Your Contribution:

  • Develop and design firmware for a variety of embedded products.

  • Learn and improve upon current firmware architectures, test systems, and build environments.

  • Assist in defining the architecture of Astro’s future products.

  • Work with the hardware engineering team to solve technical issues during development and after mass production if necessary.

  • Learn and develop scripting solutions to test firmware based features.

  • Research and learn new technologies.

Key Skills:

  • Passion for learning and for developing great products.

  • Strong knowledge in C language.

  • Strong Python development skills for writing test scripts.

  • Strong understanding of open source compilers and tools, such as GCC, OpenOCD, GDB.

  • Understanding of RTOS concepts and designs.

  • Experience working with ARM based microcontrollers.

  • Knowledge of MCU peripherals such as I2C, I2S, SPI, QSPI, UART, USB, ADC, PWM, and DMA.

  • Understanding of revision control solutions such as GIT and SVN.

  • A fundamental understanding of hardware basics and its relation to firmware development.

  • Prototyping experience using evaluation kits, protoboards, etc...

  • Knowledge of audio engineering concepts including characterization, signal processing, and protocols.

  • Ability to work in a cross functional team.

  • Full understanding of how to use lab equipment, such as oscilloscopes, soldering iron, power supply, multimeter, and logic analyzer.

  • Ability to demonstrate at least one full FW product development cycle of a high volume, consumer electronic device.

  • Minimum of 6 years experience working on firmware development for embedded devices.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Reasonable understanding of ASM programming concepts.

  • Knowledge of BASH and ZSH shell scripting.

  • Unix development environment experience.
