This requires us to put ourselves in the shoes of a diverse variety of customers and create solutions that solve their unique needs. For instance, our focus on developers led us to create the Flow application which allows developers to seamlessly move their mice between computers and to drag and drop files between computers.
To continue on this journey, we are looking for a technical project manager to partner closely with product management and design to help us create software experiences that make Logitech stand apart from our competitors, by building groundbreaking software. This position will involve incubating new ideas that we have in new software features and production software delivery.
The Creativity and Productivity business group within Logitech builds peripherals that customers know and love.
Ownership: You will be responsible for software project planning and execution. You will be the principal point of contact for disciplines outside of software engineering, including the product team and UX design team etc. Within software engineering, you will work with a global team of internal and outsourced engineers.
Project Management: You will be responsible for driving the delivery of the software using agile methodologies and also for communicating status, to meet the project goal within the timeline and budget. This is a complex task as beyond just coordinating software engineering, design, and product management, you will also be coordinating with hardware engineering. Besides these, you will serve as scrum master and lead agile practices inside your software engineering group.
Technical Approach: You will need to be able to work with architects, technical leads, and developers to identify the technical work needed in order to realize the product vision, author technical specifications, run PoCs, identify new technical enablers and drive technical execution. To have conversations at the system level and also dive deep into modules to ensure that the right technical trade-offs are being made.
Product and Design sense: You will also be responsible for staying on top of the technology trends in your domain and for identifying new enablers, evangelizing these, and driving engineering lead innovation in your domain. In order to succeed at this, you will be a close collaborator and sparring partner for our product managers and designers. With the teamwork together to ensure that our product and design are technically feasible.
1-3 years of experience in software project management, using an agile methodology, in a globally distributed team. Experience managing risk, accommodating change, and managing trade-offs are required.
Knowledge of Scrum principles, software development life cycle.
Basic software technical knowledge, understanding how software is composed, development process, and SW technologies trends. Experience working across a majority of the following technologies - cloud, desktop, mobile, and embedded is a big plus.
Good communication skills and teamwork.
Excellent verbal and written English skills.
Experience working with product management and design.
Experience using Jira and confluence tools is a strongly preferred
Experience leading outsourced software development is a plus.
Understanding the connection between Hardware, embedded software, and software is a plus.
BS/MS in computer science or prior experience as a software engineer or project management
