Senior Manager Global Transportation

The Role:

The Senior Manager Global Transportation is responsible for all transportation from our manufacturers to the regions. This is not limited to any particular mode of transport and includes air, ocean, rail and small parcel freight. He or she is a part of the Global Logistics and Supplier Operations team in Supply Chain and is a value-added business partner with in particular Global Planning, Global Sourcing and Suzhou manufacturing. He or she will ensure a complete alignment on the business goals internally and externally with our transportation providers. Working in partnership and collaboration with an external 4PL.

  • Partner internally and externally across a range of stakeholders and service providers.
  • Lead the ongoing design and implementation of a Global Logistics capability.
  • Coordinate service delivery within the new operating model.
  • Manage an internal team and partner with external 4PL.
  • Be involved in the sourcing projects for global transportation .
  • Lead the ongoing iteration of KPI and the performance management frameworks.
  • Improve process end to end on service, cost and cycle time.
  • Monitor the performance of our service providers and lead the business reviews.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Drive the digital supply chain approach for global transportation.
  • Lead the onboarding of new transportation partners.
  • Support the onboarding of new manufacturing providers and/or locations. 
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain stakeholders to formulate strategies, propose service models to delivery Supply Chain objectives and recommend cost saving proposals.
  • Be responsible for the update of service requirements into the scope of work.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Experience with global transportation management.
  • Experience with global logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent project management skills .
  • Solution design / operating model experience.
  • Process improvement qualification & experience (e.g. Lean six sigma / lean).
  • Experience working in a global and matrixed organization.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with a hands-on and flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, good team player able to drive change.
  • Culturally sensitive.
  • Curious and energetic personality.
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Ability to speak Mandarin is a prefered.

Education & experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Administration/ Logistics.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in global transportation.
