UX Manager, Design Ops
Description
The UX Manager, Design Ops will be leading a team of designers to optimize our ecommerce websites, improve processes, and manage our design system. The UX Design Ops team is a critical group that sits within the User Experience team of the Global Marketing & Communications, Direct to Consumer organization. This role will report directly to the Sr. Manager of the User Experience team, and work closely with cross-functional teams to help drive key strategic initiatives that impact at scale.
The ideal candidate for this role should be passionate about customer centric experiences, inclusive design, be an effective communicator, and know how to empower their team to produce brilliant work. They will spend quality time with the design teams in Figma, mentoring visual and interaction designers, as we work towards upleveling our web experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
Communicate designs and ideas clearly, with a strategic lens that fulfills business objectives and KPIs
Optimize designs through data driven decision making, analytics, and user testing, to build exceptional design solutions at scale
Manage the design and development of the design system, pattern library, onboarding documentation, processes and other resources
Management
Inspire, motivate, and develop a team culture that is inclusive, supportive, and that allows everyone to thrive
Coach the team to deliver quality work, promoting continual creative improvement, and actively contributes to a culture of excellence
Manage resources for projects, aligning business needs with each individual’s growth goals and strengths
Administration
Plant new relationships and maintain existing ones with teams across our organization and the company
Be the ambassador of UX and strategy, overseeing all explorations for our multi-brand checkout, My Account, and ecommerce functionality
Partner with the Strategy team, UX Design teams, Research, and Optimization to define and execute on the team’s strategy and process
MUST HAVE
Online portfolio showcasing web related projects (ecommerce experience is an attractive plus for this position)
Six (6) years minimum experience as a interaction designer, UX designer, and/or design ops role (can be a combination of)
Two (2) years minimum experience as a design ops manager, UX manager, creative director, art director or other related leadership role
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have significant professional experience in interaction design, user experience design, and/or design ops, and demonstrate the following:
Strong working knowledge of user-centered design and the creative process
In-depth understanding of designing for responsive web, components, patterns, and design systems
Experience improving the customer journey and user experience, while optimizing ecommerce websites based on determined KPIs
Advanced experience using Figma for designing, prototyping, systems/templates, handoff, collaborating, and conducting reviews
Excellent communication and presentation skills to all types of audiences (creative, technical, marketers, stakeholders, and leadership)
Strong ability to prioritize work and resources across short and long-term business needs, budgets, and schedules
A sense of humor, with an open and curious mind
NICE TO HAVE
Knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Userzoom, Contentsquare, Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, Audience Library, and/or Customer Attributes
Understanding of SEO and accessibility standards
Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS, knowledge of ReactJS would be a bonus
Experience with agile development
