The Team and Role:

Logitech's Creative and Design (C&D) team is at the forefront of our efforts to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable practices. Based in Cork, Ireland, this role will collaborate with multiple teams, including the 'Design for Sustainability' (DFS) team, which focuses on expanding our current efforts around carbon reduction within known technologies and business models, the 'Go Green' Team, which scouts and qualifies novel carbon-reducing technologies, and the Business Group design teams to democratize knowledge, best practices, and support implementation into New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.

  • Develop and Implement Sustainability Practices: Leverage your extensive knowledge and passion for sustainable design to create and implement strategies that reduce carbon impact and other environmental metrics. Your expertise will be crucial in expanding our sustainability efforts.
  • Bridge the Disciplines: Act as a liaison between the DFS team, the 'Go Green' Team, the design team, and the engineering team, ensuring seamless communication and alignment on sustainability goals. Your diplomacy and emotional intelligence will facilitate collaboration and navigate challenges.
  • Implement Sustainable Solutions: Understand and interpret sustainability requirements, transforming them into actionable design strategies that align with our sustainability vision. Your attention to detail and commitment to sustainability will ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive Quality and Innovation: Implement best practices in sustainable design, partnering with engineering and manufacturing to maintain quality throughout the product lifecycle. Stay informed about the latest technologies and trends in sustainability to keep our products innovative.
  • Collaborate and Inspire: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, sharing your expertise to elevate collective output. Your ability to communicate effectively and foster a positive team environment will be key to your success.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience (5+ years) in sustainable design, with a strong understanding of carbon reduction methodologies and sustainable materials.
  • Design Sensibility: A strong understanding and appreciation of design principles, coupled with a keen eye for sustainable practices and aesthetic refinement.
  • Engineering Acumen: Familiarity with mechanical engineering concepts and manufacturing processes, enabling you to analyze, understand and develop designs that are both sustainable and functional.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly articulate your ideas.
  • Passion and Curiosity: A genuine passion for sustainability and a desire to continuously learn and improve your craft.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Design, or related field.
  • Experience in the consumer electronics or related industries.
  • Knowledge of advanced sustainable manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
  • A portfolio showcasing successful sustainability projects.
  • Experience preparing sustainability reports and assessments.
