The Role:

The Firmware Expert is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating and verifying embedded software for new products.

  • Design and develop firmware and embedded software code for wireless devices.

  • Ensure the implementation of connectivity code in devices and platform is robust and reliable.

  • Define and implement high performance firmware by leveraging a strong understanding of embedded hardware design.

  • Collaborate with the development team and qualification team.

  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth analysis of variable factors.

  • Contribute to software architectural, design and functional specifications.

  • Communicate early and often about any significant events or issues affecting the team or delivery schedule and quality.

  • Improve processes or propose improvement where’s applicable.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Firmware development.

  • Expert level code optimization on bare-metal or nano-kernel tiny footprint systems.

  • Strong profiling skills (power and clock domains), power management (analog and digital).

  • Expert level debugging using software (gdb) and hardware (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).

  • Strong multithreading: thread synchronization, shared memory protection, events/signals.

  • Embedded low power systems using dedicated micro controllers.

  • SPI, I2C and USB communication interfaces, and messaging.

  • Excellent knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy standard.

  • Ability to translate high-level protocol descriptions into detailed level implementation specifications.

  • Service oriented attitude, with strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.

  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to non-technical individuals.

Education:

  •  MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
