The Role:

The Freight Sourcing Manager is responsible for the Freight Sourcing category within the Supply Chain Sourcing team. He or she leads sourcing projects on all transportation modes, drives supplier identification, negotiation and contracting according to business requirements. He or she is a value-added partner to the business and ensures complete alignment between business goals and stakeholders.

  • Develop and execute Freight  Sourcing strategies and be accountable for the outcome. Propose alternatives meeting Supply Chain cost and performance objectives.

  • Monitor market trends, provide and maintains synthesis of market dynamics.

  • Determine freight bid strategy, milestones and schedules.

  • Prepare, lead and conclude freight bids with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers. 

  • Provide data-driven analysis of freight sourcing bids with the support of data analytics team.

  • Negotiate terms and conditions for various transportation modes and projects in collaboration with Legal and Supply Chain organization.

  • Acts as an advisor on the Freight industry, challenge and support Supply Chain objectives.

  • Build and maintain ongoing supplier relationships at various levels. Prepare and lead suppliers’ business reviews. 

  • Drive supplier performance and feedback loop with all stakeholders.

  • Support Supply Chain initiatives on freight-related projects. 

  • Travel as the need arises for Supply Chain projects (United States, Asia).

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:

  • Minimum of 7 years in a similar sourcing role 

  • Freight sourcing experience in a global company environment

  • Strong analytical skills with data analytics background

  • Ability to build relationships across a global and matrixed organization

  • Good project management skills

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills 

  • Good team player able to drive change

  • Hands-on and flexible approach

  • Culturally sensitive, curious and energetic personality

  • Fluent written and spoken English

  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment 

In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:

  • Exposure to consumer products, retail industry

  • Additional spoken languages are an asset

  • Experience in trade compliance is an asset



  • Academic degree in Business Administration/Freight industry/Logistics
