The Role

We are seeking an External Reporting Manager to join our SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting team based in Newark, California. The candidate will report to the Senior Manager External Reporting. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of SEC reporting and technical research on accounting issues.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of information included in earning releases, annual report, Form 10-K, Proxy Statement, Form 10-Q, Form 8-K and other SEC filings 

  • Assist in drafting/review of new footnote requirements and MD&A and reviewing financial reporting tie-out binders 

  • Assist with the review of the XBRL process 

  • Perform technical research on accounting issues and new accounting standards and assist in drafting/reviewing technical accounting memos

  • Provide accounting solutions to new/ad-hoc transactions and coordinate with various departments 

  • Collaborate with facilities and general ledger teams for the execution of ASC 842 Leases 

  • Audit support during annual audit and quarterly reviews 

  • Coordinate and manage requests from external auditors 

  • Assist with M&A transactions and related SOX controls 

  • Assist with the execution, maintenance and updating of Sarbanes-Oxley 404 processes and procedures 

  • Review stock-based compensation calculation, EPS calculation, equity rollforward and cash flow statement 

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements 

  • Assist in the preparation/review of Audit Committee and other presentation materials 

  • Participate in ad-hoc project and initiatives and support ad-hoc requests 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • 6+ years of public accounting experience and/or relevant industry experience

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP with proven ability to identify, research and resolve accounting and disclosure matters

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Workiva (a plus)

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, with high standards for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail

  • Self-driven, ability to work independently and in a team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
