Spring Internship Program - Mechanical Engineering Intern (Thermal)

The Team and Role:
The Mechanical Engineering Intern (Thermal) is responsible for active thermal solution and noise measurement on Video Conferencing System.

Work in a dynamic R&D Center, collaborating with expert teams to create great products in Video Conferencing field.
Passion for design and develop the Mechanical structure is the key, this includes creating and testing solutions to meet design goals.
Review current Video Conferencing System-Thermal solution in the Market, and understand thermal management on each product.
Analyze and identify thermal parameters and other aspects of thermal design
Conduct CFD simulation/ data analysis
Extensive prototyping based on parameters to validate the output
• Use of measurement and testing equipment, to support output, includes thermal measurement via thermal couple or IR camera etc.At the end of the internship, the potential candidate will have to deliver:
- A fully functional prototype to demonstrate thermal solutions.
- Summarize parameters of CFD simulation/analysis and output of test.
Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:
Throughout understanding/knowing of cooling techniques for electronic components and equipment
Understanding/knowing of natural and forced convection cooling
Understand the functions and applications of semiconductors, PCBs, component placement, enclosures, and heat sinks is a plus
Experience in conducting CFD simulations utilizing tools such as Flotherm, Icepack etc.
Ability to design thermal tests and execute per plan within a laboratory environment
Some experience with 3D MCAD tools such as Pro/ENGINEER
Experience operating data acquisition equipment
English communication + presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Major in Mechanical Engineering or related, candidate finishing at least 4th year on a degree course could be considered. The higher educated background, the better preferred.
