Position Summary:

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of loanDepot’s data ecosystems. Provides expertise around enterprise data, data warehousing including business intelligence, master data management, data governance, data strategy, innovation, and efficiency. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Responsibilities:       
  
  • Provide leadership on the Databricks platform.
  • Designs data-centric solutions using available platforms, systems, and tools including data flows, processes, and schemas according to best practices.
  • Provides architectural standards and artifacts to aid the engineering teams
  • Contribute to development as needed to meet goals.
  • Manages the development and release of data, reporting and analytics changes to production.
  • Assists with defining the data, reporting and analytics roadmap and long-term strategy for company.
  • Prioritizes project and support tasks and delegates appropriately across the team.
  • Continuously identifies and implements data, reporting and analytics process improvements.
  • Communicates effectively with business partners, clients and other IT leaders.
  • Assists with training material for clients, business partners and team.
  • Develops, grows and retains top talent.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
 
  • Expert working knowledge of the data platform landscape along with best practices with respect to Relational databases, NoSQL databases, and “Big Data” architectures
  • Proficient in industry standard techniques for data modeling, process modeling, master data management, metadata management and enterprise data management and data stewardship.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Ability to Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of staff, senior management, business, developers, etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and a minimum of four (6) + years’ experience working in a similar field.
  • Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
  • Experience with programming languages - Python (required), Scala and/or C# nice to have.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with BI, reporting, data mining, or multi-datacenter applications within PCI-compliant processes required.
  • Experience with Database technologies – SQL, performance tuning concepts, AWS RDS, RedShift, MS SQL, MySQL required.
  • Strong Experience with ”Big Data” tools, primarily in Apache Spark on Databricks
  • Experience with stream-processing systems: Kinesis, Kafka required.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in large Data Warehouse design, implementation and data flow required.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this roles is between $186,000 and $210,000 per year. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
