Position Summary:

Responsible for educating homeowners on lending options. This position ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Meets with borrowers to determine best loan program for individual needs after analyzing income, assets, credit, and property.
  • Helps the customer determine the best product offering, requests initial documents from the client, and submits a preliminary paperless loan package.
  • Participates in all steps related to the origination of a home equity or personal loan including, but not limited to, counseling borrowers, and taking applications by phone and by chat features.
  • Provides exceptional customer service in determining the best product for the customer and locks loan in at point of sale. Requests initial documents and submits preliminary paperless loan packages as required.
  • Communicates positively and professionally with operations staff throughout the process of the loan to ensure a smooth closing.
  • Engages in managing the loan pipeline with all team members to meet company efficiency standards.
  • Collects all required documentation from borrowers and converts to paperless documents.
  • Reads and understands rate sheets, product codes, and loan level price adjustments in order to calculate rates and fees.
  • Negotiates and confirms rates, fees, and terms with customers.
  • Communicates regularly with borrowers to meet desired expectations.
  • Maintains minimum productivity goals.
  • Complies with organizational standards, polices, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
  • In office opportunity in Plano, TX or Foothill Ranch, CA. Hybrid model may be an option after 90 days based on performance.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio, and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to connect quickly to clients, build and leverage client relationships.
  • Ability to confidently persuade and motivate the client to keep the processing moving along to close the deal.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on a short-term and long-term basis.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management.
  • Ability to make informal and formal presentations, inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
  • Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in nonstandardized situations.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.
  • NMLS SAFE ACT compliant, holding three (3) or more state licenses.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or minimum of two (2) + years of lending experience in a similar sales environment.
