Position Summary:

Responsible for leading operations for mello, loanDepot’s new operating unit, working closely with the Business leaders to craft a vision, value proposition, and strategy for a key driver of loanDepot’s future growth. Responsible for working with key business partners in existing mello business units, Product, Engineering, Strategy, Marketing, Finance, Direct and Retail Channels, and Legal & Compliance, to strategically evaluate the trade-offs between competing goals and interests across the organization, to deliver an optimal experience for our customers and to drive profitable growth for the organization.


  • Collaborates with leadership to support them in creating and aligning on a product vision and business strategy for mello, including customer acquisition, engagement, monetization, partnerships, and platform integration.
  • Assesses strategic growth opportunities in collaboration with the corporate strategy team and cross functional leaders, assisting with market and competitive analysis, financial modeling, business case development, partnership negotiation, project management, and instituting an operating cadence and rhythm.
  • Works with Business and Product leaders to help translate product strategy and vision into a prioritized roadmap and collaborate across functional teams to drive execution of that roadmap.
  • Manages relationships across all functions to ensure feature feasibility, collaboration amongst teams, and identification of potential barriers to roll out.
  • Participates as a leader in the general operation of the business, taking ownership of projects and initiatives, carefully managing scope, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Builds strong partnerships with leaders across the company to design and create seamless, cohesive product experiences.
  • Enables high-quality, timely execution in a fast-paced, iterative, fluid environment.
  • Communicates progress and other items of importance across the organization and to the leadership team. 


  • 5 + years’ experience leading cross-functional teams within fintech sales and operations organizations.
  • Recent experience within a fintech organization required.
  • Demonstrates the implementation of collaborative and agile teamwork environments, with a bias for action.
  • A strong history of relationship building and driving alignment throughout multiple levels and functions within an organization, including Senior Executives, Product, Engineering, Sales, Legal, and Marketing teams.
  • Intuitive grasp of the small but crucial details that elevate product functionality into compelling experiences for end users.
  • Highly adept at informing product direction through data-driven analysis and direct user study, using data to drive strategy, execution, and optimization.
  • Ability to bring clear structure to ambiguous questions and help the mello team navigate competing priorities and stakeholders in the organization.
  • Ability to break down challenges/opportunities, build a strategy, write a business/action plan, navigate resources, and project-manage to completion.
  • Ability to drive results and do what it takes to execute on complex, high-visibility projects under tight deadlines.
