Position Summary:
Responsible for account management and loan sales. Solicits, builds, and maintains strong relationships with institutional mortgage investors, community banks, regional banks, money managers, insurance companies, REITs, Credit Unions, and hedge funds. Proficient in relative value analysis, comfortable in a high pace environment, able to move between multiple different asset classes with ease, and capable of managing the entire counterparty onboard process to loan sales and settlement. Capital Markets is responsible for sourcing, structuring and negotiating, critical parts of loanDepot’s execution strategy. Strong regional relationships with Chief Banking Officers, Chief Lending Officers, Chief Mortgage Officers, Chief Financial Officers, and Treasurers at banks or credit unions is a plus. 
Responsibilities:
  •  Builds and owns a significant portion of the company’s liquidity strategy, specifically focusing on development of bank and credit union partners with a strong background in residential whole loan sales, trading, an understanding of fixed income fundamentals, established depository relationships and an understanding of the mortgage origination and banking process.
  • Develops new investor relationships to purchase residential and home equity products. Manages all parts of the documentation and onboarding process for new counter parties.
  • Responsible for geographic region, mostly focused on depositories.
  • Pursues all available means to aggressively open up new investor relationships to support our In-Market Retail channel. 
  • Builds recurring inquiry from new counter parties that align from a price, transaction management, overlay, and review protocol perspective.
  • Plays a meaningful role in developing and executing Capital Markets strategy to enable the company’s rapid growth.
  • Owns deal processes from start to finish, including structuring, negotiation, documentation, and execution.
  • Develops a strong understanding of loanDepot’s business from a unique perspective and learns how Capital Markets fits into broader corporate initiatives.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, and/or a minimum of seven (7) + years’ experience working capital markets, mortgage secondary, and / or institutional sales.
  • Experience in the mortgage industry required.
  • CFA preferred.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this roles is between $141,000 and $224,000. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
