Position Summary:

Responsible for underwriting second mortgage loan applications for special products and performs credit reviews in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for underwriting loan applications and performs income and credit review on borrower applications.
  • Responsible for decision quality and manufacturing quality of all loans within the division.
  • Assesses loan attributes and documentation for soundness and accuracy.
  • Receives inbound borrower calls to assist with the loan process.
  • Communicates to customers regarding any applicable additional requirements.
  • Achieves monthly production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service both verbally and written.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in frontline Underwriting required. Non-1st mortgage products highly preferred.
  • Experience in Consumer Lending Underwriting and Risk Analysis required.
  • Expert knowledge of credit, income, fraud analysis, and tax returns.
  • Knowledge of Self-employed borrower criteria highly preferred.
  • Tech savvy & a quick learner of systems utilizing all loanDepot programs & vendors.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate.
  • Professional, proactive and solution oriented.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adjust to varied workload in fast paced environment.
