Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting in developing and implementing a compliance program for new mortgage servicing operations. Serves as a highly collaborative and entrepreneurial team member with strong initiative to proactively advance important legal and compliance initiatives. Adheres to strict deadlines while successfully multi-tasking numerous projects and day-to-day administrative tasks. Serves as a team player and excellent listener with close attention to detail and great pride in their work. Positively reflects the Legal Department in individual interactions with internal clients at all levels of the organization as well as in interactions with external customers, clients, and vendors. This position ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches state and federal laws related to loan servicing.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of government laws, compliance requirements and responsibilities impacting mortgage loan servicing.
  • Manages the research, preparation, and maintenance of 50 state fee and practice matrices.
  • Works with business team members to advise on state and/or federal legal requirements to minimize risk to the organization.
  • Gathers information and loan files for state examinations and GSE audits. Assists in the coordination of regulatory examinations in collaboration with the senior leadership.
  • Assists in building and maintaining compliance management system for servicing operations.
  • Assists in developing and implementing operational compliance monitoring activities for compliance with mortgage servicing laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:.

  • Experience in the mortgage industry required, ideally in servicing.
  • Demonstrated hands-on compliance experience required
  • Current project management experience and strong capability in managing multiple project priorities required
  • Prior experience with interpreting and applying federal, state, and investor regulations required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or related discipline required, or minimum of five (5) + years’ mortgage experience required.
  • Experience with GSE guidelines preferred.
