Position Summary:

Responsible for underwriting second mortgage loan applications for special products and performs credit reviews in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for underwriting loan applications; performs credit review in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for decision quality and manufacturing quality of all loans within the division.
  • Communicates to customers regarding any applicable additional requirements.
  • Evaluates the accuracy of loan documents.
  • Calculates or validates income using all approved sources of income.
  • Assesses loan attributes and documentation for soundness and accuracy.
  • Achieves monthly production goals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Provides exceptional customer service both verbally and written.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in Underwriting non-1st mortgage products.
  • Experience in Consumer Lending Underwriting and Risk Analysis required.
  • Knowledge of credit, income and fraud analysis required.
  • Knowledge of tax return analysis for self employed borrowers required.
  • In office opportunity in Plano, TX or Foothill Ranch, CA. Hybrid model may be an option after 90 days based on performance.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented and accurate. Organized and able to multi-task. Flexible and ready to work in a dynamic production-based environment.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and adjust to varied workload in fast paced environment.
