Senior Staff Accountant
Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing detailed and accurate financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. Strong problem‐solving skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, proven senior accounting skills and willingness to mentor junior team members are crucial to the success of this role. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.
Responsibilities:
- Administers changes and updates necessary financial statements using senior accounting expertise and accounting best practices.
- Utilizes advanced analytical skills to analyze accounting reports, general ledgers, and accounts payable and receivable details. Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
- Prepares internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system.
- Develops spreadsheet reports, ensuring accuracy and high attention to detail to help management make effective business decisions.
- Responds to complex accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
- Mentors and provides guidance to more junior level accountants. Reviews and analyzes work as needed.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related discipline preferred and a minimum of five (5) + years’ experience working in a similar field.
- Advanced excel skills required.
- Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
- Licensed CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
- CFA Charterholder or CFA candidate preferred.
- Must be able to work 2 days in a week in our Irvine, CA office.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $67,000 and $85,000. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
