SAFe RTE/Release Train Engineer (Contract-to-Hire)

Position Summary:
Responsible for operating in the role of SAFe Release Train Engineer, you will be an integral part of our LACE leadership team, dedicated to delivering value to our customers while continuously striving for improvement. Acting as a servant leader and coach, you will lead an Agile Release Train (ART) and one or more delivery teams within the organization, playing a critical role in their success. Your responsibilities will include leading the ART towards successful value-driven delivery, understanding and coordinating dependencies and impediments, facilitating ART and team events, fostering continuous improvement, and championing healthy Agile practices within your ART and across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the Agile Release Train (ART) as a servant leader. Organizes and facilitates ART and team events, ensuring effective communication and alignment across teams.
- Coaches, mentors, and manages multiple Scrum Masters within the organization to enhance their effectiveness in leading Agile teams.
- Partners with Product Management to ensure a healthy program roadmap and backlog, fostering a value-driven approach to product development.
- Identifies and addresses impediments and dependencies to ensure smooth functioning of the ART.
- Supports capacity planning and trade-off discussions to ensure successful sprint delivery.
- Develops and maintains an Agile metrics framework to track and communicate key ART and team performance indicators.
- Analyzes and shares relevant ART and team data to enable informed decision-making and drive improvements in team performance.
- Champions healthy Agile practices, promoting delivery discipline, consistent processes, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Actively participates in the LACE (Lean Agile Center of Excellence) leadership team and CoP(s).
- Collaborates with other leaders developing and maintaining standards, tools, and best practices related to Agile and SAFe methodologies.
- Stays current on industry trends and best practices in Agile and SAFe, and incorporate relevant insights into the organization's practices.
- Trains staff on Agile and related frameworks, including SAFe and Scrum.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting a team as a Scrum Master and at least two (2) years serving as an RTE.
- A minimum of twelve (12) + years of experience working in a software development organization, preferably in an agile environment.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience with direct reporting responsibilities.
- Scrum Master and SAFe RTE certification required.
- SAFe SPC certification preferred.
- Strong understanding of engineering practices such as DevOps, TDD, and BDD.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $75.00-$85.00 per hour. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
