Main Purpose of Role:

Key Responsibilities:
(The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)
●Teaches various High School Visual & Digital Art electives including: Introductory and Advanced Digital Photography, Graphic Design, and Studio Art classes
● Serves as an advisor in our High School advisory program
● Produces an annual High School Art exhibition in collaboration with other Visual Arts teachers
● Organizes and coordinates student submissions for art shows and competitions
● Collaborates and contributes as a team member of the Fine Arts Department as well as the Upper School faculty
● Utilizes learning management and student information systems provided by the school
● Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school;
   demonstrates behavior that is professional as identified in our Employee Handbook (inside and outside of school)
● Continues to grow professionally in order to meet the changing responsibilities of the position by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations
● Demonstrates flexibility and a positive attitude toward new challenges and growth opportunities
● Participates in school-wide events, attends during and after-school functions in support of school community, supports and sponsors activities/events outside the typical workday 
● Completes a minimum of two duties as assigned by Division Head (number of duties may vary depending on role)
● Attends and participates in all required faculty and staff meetings and serves on school committees as required
● Completes responsibilities as assigned by Division Head or direct supervisor based on student and school needs (e.g. test proctoring)
Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
● Experience in teaching introductory to advanced level digital photography, as well as graphic design and studio art classes
● At least three years of experience teaching High School students
● Familiarity with curriculum design
● Ability to work well individually and as part of a team
● Strong interpersonal skills
● Strong writing skills
● Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and students while maintaining confidentiality
● Mediation skills
● Adaptable and stress tolerant
● Strong organizational skills
● Able to establish and maintain rapport with students, parents, and teachers
