The Director, Plant Services is responsible for planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating and controlling the activities of the Facilities Operations and Maintenance functions. Including maintaining structures, HVAC, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical and other key systems, utilities and grounds in an operative and safe working condition in compliance with the standards of The Joint Commission.  This position is accountable to plan and develop new construction, manage construction and maintain the facility in support of an effective organization.


  1. Manage major construction projects.
  2. Direct day to day operations of the building and maintenance staff, according to all state, federal and Joint Commission regulations.  This includes grounds care. 
  3. Address complaints and resolves problems.
  4. Develop, evaluate and implement departmental policies and procedures; goals and objectives.
  5. Develop the annual capital, operating and man-hours budgets.  Manages to budget after approval.
  6. Oversee operations and maintenance of satellite facilities.
  7. Provide effective communication, leadership and guidance regarding rules and regulations governing healthcare facilities through governing/regulatory agencies, codes and standards.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.




  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in plant operations/facilities management
  • 3+ years’ experience in managerial/leadership role


  • Prior work experience in healthcare setting
  • Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) certification or equivalent
