    The Manager of Outpatient Pharmacy Services is responsible for management of various pharmacy service areas including the outpatient health system pharmacy and ambulatory pharmacy services.  Responsibilities include management of day to day operations; process or program design, improvement, implementation and maintenance; financial and human resource management; strategic planning; and quality assessment and improvement. Continually evaluates progress toward objectives and maintains efficient and effective day-to-day operations.

  3. Functions as pharmacist-in-charge for LMH Health System Pharmacy
  4. Coordinates Meds to Beds Program and completes corresponding program enhancements
  5. Coordinates medication therapy management program for LMH Health plan members and outside self-insured employers
  6. Facilitates provision of ambulatory care pharmacy services in LMH Health outpatient clinics.
  7. Precepts pharmacy students and residents in the outpatient setting
  8. Provides meaningful input to director and executive leadership engaged in strategic planning activities for outpatient services
  9. Ensure that pharmacy services meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
  10. Acts as a key contact person for nursing, medical, and other professional staff
  11. Serves as a resource for employee decision making and develops individuals for pharmacy leadership positions.
  12. Ensure compliance to all state and federal regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies pertaining to medication management processes
  13. Assists in the development of annual budget to ensure appropriate allocation of resources to support operations and meet departmental goals
  14. Recruits, interviews and selects staff in collaboration with Human Resources and ensures that staffing guidelines and standards are maintained in accordance with patient care and/or departmental requirements
  15. Fosters positive team collaboration and staff development to facilitate efficient operations, employee engagement and achievement of patient quality/safety/satisfaction or customer service excellence goals
  16. Actively engages in professional development to maintain current skills and knowledge of environmental trends, clinical developments, best practices and business opportunities
  1. Performs care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
  2. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.


  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy (BS or PharmD Degree)
  • Eligible for licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in Kansas
  • PGY1 residency training or equivalent experience (minimum of 3 years of previous job-related experience)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills  
  • BLS certification


  • Board Certification in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy (BCACP) or intention to obtain within 1 year of hire
  • Additional post-graduate training or advanced degree (ex: PGY2, MBA, etc.)
  • Managerial experience: 1-2 years
  • Excellent clinical patient care, time-management and organizational skills
