The Massage Therapist manipulates bodily tissues manually for the purpose of affecting the muscular and nervous systems, and the general circulation of the body.


  1. Responsible for obtaining an accurate medical history from the client.
  2. Provides the optimal level of therapeutic massage and bodywork services and demonstrates excellence in practice by promoting healing and well-being through responsible, compassionate, and respectful touch.
  3. Provides relief of muscle tightness, stress reduction, and relaxation through the various forms of therapeutic massage.
  4. Responsible for physician contact when necessary.
  5. Completes any documentation necessary to ensure quality services.
  6. Responsible for referring the client to other professionals when it is in the best interest of the client.
  7. Responsible for the use of appropriate draping to protect the client's physical and emotional privacy.
  8. Conduct oral discussions of patient protected health information with other staff or with clients and family members in a manner that limits the possibility of inadvertent disclosures.
  9. Report to Administration suspected violations of a business associate's contractual obligations to safeguard protected health information.
  10. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.



  • Certified as a Massage Therapist through the NCBTMB
  • Basic Life Support Certification
