The Director has 24 hour responsibility for the overall management of all Radiology Department.  The Director’s responsibilities include but are not limited to management of the patient care in the department, departmental employees and monitoring and evaluating the quality of care administered and assuring that appropriate action based on findings are taken


  1. Assesses the quality of patient care provided via a variety of avenues. 
  2. Monitors the efficiency of the department.
  3. Analyzes trends in healthcare and the impact of these trends on LMH.
  4. Scrutinizes trends in healthcare and community needs/perceptions: plans for organizational growth and development while maintaining current programs.
  5. Utilizes the CQI processes in problem solving and decision making.
  6. Collaborates with other LMH directors, administration, physicians, and members of the community to implement appropriate strategies/processes to maintain a competent staff that is able to meet the patient care needs of the Lawrence community and service area.
  7. Work in partnership with other LMH directors to develop an annual budget which is compatible with institutional resources, and that assures quality patient care.  Monitors department’s monthly expenditures.
  8. Coordinate with Nursing Supervisor to adjust staffing needs, determined by the patient acuity/unit needs.
  9. Conducts departmental meetings for communication and education.
  10. Coaches staff members on a continued basis, providing constructive feedback for professional growth.
  11. Performs care according to the population served on the unit as referenced in the Administrative, Scope of Services Policy.
  12. Performs other duties as needed or assigned.



  • Bachelors degree in Radiology or related field
  • 5+ years of prior radiology experience
  • 2+ years of prior management experience
  • ARRT or ARDMS certification


  • Master’s Degree
